Paradise Cove Storm Water Treatment Facility Opens

June 29, 2010
Paradise Cove in Malibu, California, took a major step to improve the quality of beach water that has historically been contaminated from storm water runoff by installing an advanced water treatment facility at the outfall of Ramirez Creek. The 3-stage water treatment system includes sediment removal, filtration, and UV light treatment. MNS provided engineering design, a system feasibility study, and a hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of Ramirez Canyon for the Paradise Cove Storm Water Treatment Facility project.

The project was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 and the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, through an agreement with the State Water Resources Control Board.
