GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING & MATERIALS TESTING

GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING
MNS engineers and geologists are experienced with State and local code requirements for geologic and geotechnical investigations in California. MNS uses a variety of methods, tools and sensors ranging from cone penetration tests (CPT) and geophysical methods to conventional drilling techniques and borehole tests to create analytical models of subsurface. Our geotechnical laboratory services include unit weight and water content tests; classification tests; compression tests; shear strength tests; deformation and consolidation tests; asphalt and concrete testing. Our geotechnical services are utilized on projects involving the design and construction of water resources, pipelines and distribution/collection systems, flood control, roadways and bridges, earth retention and slope stabilization systems, geologic hazards assessment and mitigation, building foundations, and site development.

MATERIALS TESTING & LABORATORY
MNS also offers construction support services. Among the services offered are compaction testing and grading control, construction materials testing, pavement design and analysis, batch plant inspections, preparation of project geotechnical reports, ICC-Certified inspection services, percolation testing and slope stability analysis.

All field and laboratory work is supervised and reviewed by a registered civil engineer. The American Society of the Testing of Materials (ASTM), or Caltrans Standard Test Methods are followed in all testing procedures. Our laboratory is certified by Caltrans and we are also enrolled in the proficiency sampling programs of the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL).
