Congratulations to the City of Soledad and MNS Government group for winning the APWA Monterey Bay Chapter’s 2024 Overall Project of the Year Award. The new Orchard Lane Park is a dynamic 3.5-acre community park that prioritizes inclusivity to meet the needs of all children, including those with physical and learning disabilities. Shaped by extensive community input, the new park reflects the values of the community, deeply rooted in youth and families. The park includes a dog park, skate park, sprayground, nature walk, butterfly garden, lawn and event space, picnic area, restroom, free Wi-Fi, and multiple inclusive play areas designed to be accessible for kids with disabilities. The theme of the park ‘Looking to the Future’ was captured in the park’s modern design and contemporary sustainable features and signifies that the City is growing and evolving.
