Santa Claus Lane Bike Path Opens!

Santa Claus Lane Bike Path Opens!

After years in the making, the Santa Claus Lane Bike Path is now OPEN! MNS is thrilled to have been the engineer and surveyor of record for this community enhancing project. A key goal of the project was to provide a safe alternative transportation connection between the City of Carpinteria to the communities in north Santa Barbara County. The MNS Transportation team (Shawn Kowalewski, Albert Larios, Francisco Zinkewich, left to right) were on site during the November 21st ribbon cutting celebration to commemorate the completion of the project and participate in the local festivities.

The new 0.6 mile Class I bikeway and multipurpose path connects Santa Claus Lane to Carpinteria Avenue and is located on the beachside of US 101 between the freeway and the railroad tracks. The Santa Barbara County Association of Governments led project-required collaboration from many stakeholders including Caltrans, County of Santa Barbara, City of Carpinteria, Union Pacific Railroad, and the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County along with local business owners and residents. The completion of this project provides a non-motorized transportation option for public use.
