MNS Welcomes New Water Resources Principal Engineer

Mukhar_John_2016BkgrdSan Jose, CA — MNS Engineers, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of John Mukhar, PE, as a Principal Engineer for the water resources group. Mr. Mukhar will be working out of the San Jose office with the engineering design team, servicing the Bay Area markets.

John brings experience working as Manager of Environmental Control Programs at the City of Palo Alto Regional Water Quality Control Plant, working on stormwater pollution prevention and recycled water programs. Prior to the City of Palo Alto, Mr. Mukhar worked as a member of the Environmental Services Department at the City of San Jose, implementing Asset Management and GIS systems at the San Jose/Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility. While at the City of San Jose, John also served as program manager for the Environmental Enforcement unit in Watershed Enforcement. In other roles, he has served as a project manager, design manager, contract manager, department liaison, and team leader.

In addition to over 30 years of professional engineering experience in the environmental, water, and wastewater engineering fields, Mr. Mukhar has over five years of teaching experience, as a part-time graduate and undergraduate lecturer at San Jose State University, teaching both civil and environmental engineering courses for the water, wastewater, environmental, and transportation markets.

John has a thorough understanding of the markets and services in the Bay Area, having worked in the region for over 15 years. Mr. Mukhar’s focus was on managing staff, raising productivity, and leading teams to perform more efficiently by resolving conflicts, through coaching and mentoring internal and external staff, customers, governmental agencies, and labor unions.

Mr. Mukhar received his MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering from San Jose State University and his BS in Civil Engineering from California State University, Fresno. He has also participated in Arts and Practice of Leadership (APL) and 4 Quadrant Leadership (4QL) training.
